Dr. Andrew Hager
Dr. Andrew Hager grew up in Tecumseh and attended Belle River District High School. After studying Biology at the University of Windsor, he graduated from the School of Optometry at the University of Waterloo in 2000. He has practised in Essex and Leamington ever since. In his final year of school he completed his externship in Ocular Disease and Therapeutics at The Eye Institute in New Port Richey, Florida.
Dr. Hager is married and has three children in grade school. He enjoys spending time with his family and staying active, whether it’s swimming, biking or working in the yard. His interests include photography and all things science-y. He volunteers for the Heart and Stroke Foundation and at his children’s school.
Dr. Hager is always happy to see new and established patients in Essex and in Leamington.
Dr. Julie Ricci
Dr. Julie Ricci was born and raised in Leamington, Ontario. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Windsor (BSc) and then went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry Degree from the University of Waterloo in 2006. She completed an externship in Ocular Disease and Therapeutics at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Ricci has been with Hager Optometry since 2006 and enjoys seeing patients of all ages. She also performs evaluations for refractive surgery, contact lens fitting, cataracts, binocular vision problems and ocular disease (such as keratoconus, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration).
Dr. Ricci has volunteered in eye care missions to countries such as Haiti, India and Mexico. During her numerous trips to Haiti, she brings along hundreds of pairs of eyeglasses donated by her own patients in Essex and Leamington and organizes an eye clinic reaching many who would otherwise not have access to vision care.
Dr. Ricci is married with two grown children. She enjoys running, biking, snorkeling/scuba diving and visiting the nearby nature trails of Point Pelee National Park. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Essex (District 6400) and is serving as Assistant Governor for the present term.
Dr. Ricci welcomes patients at both the Leamington and Essex locations.
Dr. Jennie Bacon
Dr. Jennie Bacon spent her childhood in Woodslee, Ontario and now resides in beautiful Kingsville. With an early interest in math and science, she decided at the young age of 13 to pursue Optometry. After graduating from École Secondaire L’Essor she went on to complete her undergraduate degree at the University of Windsor (BSc) and then continued her studies at the University of Waterloo to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2012. She completed an externship in Ocular Disease and Therapeutics at the OMNI Eye Specialists in Baltimore, Maryland as well as a Volunteer Internship Program at the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. Dr. Bacon performs full scope optometry and enjoys seeing patients of all ages for testing in binocular vision, ocular disease management, cataract assessments, contact lens fittings, refractive surgery consultations and more.
Dr. Bacon is married with one young daughter. She enjoys spending time outdoors, has a special interest in plant based nutrition and loves animals. She has volunteered as a foster mom for shelter dogs and currently owns a rescued Catahoula Leopard Dog. Dr. Bacon also enjoys hiking, horseback riding and agility training with her dog Toby.
Dr. Bacon welcomes patients at both Leamington and Essex locations.
Dr. Peter DiPasquale
Dr. Peter DiPasquale grew up in the Pointe West area of Amherstburg and has since moved to his current home in downtown Windsor’s Royal Windsor Terrace. He attended the University of Windsor for three years majoring in Biological Sciences when he was accepted to the Illinois College of Optometry in the south of side of Chicago, where he graduated and received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2009. He has practiced mostly in Amherstburg since then, as well as in Tecumseh, LaSalle, Chatham, and also alongside ophthalmologists Dr. Brian Curran and Dr. Chiu in Windsor. He also manages a variety of patients who have glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes and hypertension, contact lenses, and laser eye surgery.
Dr. DiPasquale enjoys traveling the world, anything regarding cosmology and the exploration of space, and is a big sci-fi fan who also loves the current influx of comic book movies. He loves the summer months and spends much of his time on his balcony reading science books or playing the guitar when the weather can afford it. He’s also a huge Maple Leafs fan who’s ecstatic his team is finally good!
